| Born in Deventer, Netherlands on 6 April, 1974 and raised in Germany, Henk Holsheimer has been fascinated by cars since his childhood. He studied automotive design in Pforzheim and gleaned experience in various car design studios, among others at BMW and Opel. Apart from his current position as a designer and stylist for the Danish company Lego, Henk Holsheimer draws classic and contemporary cars. Since 1991, Henk created more than 160 original charcoal drawings of cars and racing scenes, many on commission and others as free studies. His exclusively black and white artwork reveals an exceptional depth and striking dynamics. Henk stages cars from the 1930’s as well as new Formula 1 cars in exciting compositions. For inspiration he visits historical events such as the Mille Miglia or Goodwood and is a regular guest at LeMans and several Concours d’Elelegances. Henk presents his work at many exhibitions and automotive events around Europe and has a steadily expanding clientele. Since 2004, he has also been creating digital artwork, mostly for design purposes. The artwork for the Concorsa d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2006 combines digital painting techniques with the know-how of conventional painting and drawing techniques to create a novelty in automotive art. |
