In the early 1970's, A.J.Holsheimer started to paint photo-realistic townscapes and exhibited his work with big success.
In this period, also his first paintings of cars emerged. Especially the deep reflections in the car´s bodies define the unique style of Holsheimer´s artwork. Albertus usually paints with acrylic or gouache on cardboard or canvas. His drawings are made with colour pencil, often mixed with chalk and gouache on canson paper.

Since the early eighties Holsheimer exhibits his work at car fairs and exhibitions and sells his paintings and drawings to car and art enthusiasts all over the world. His work has been published in magazines, calendars and on posters for many years.

In the 1960's, Albertus Holsheimer was employed as an automotive designer at the European division of Ford in Cologne and, from 1974 to 2001, at Opel/GM.
